  • Lemon

I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2015 Cadillac Escalade in March 2016. At the time of purchase, the SUV had 42,000 miles on it. It currently has 58,000, meaning I only put 16,000 miles on the vehicle. I took the truck to Barksdale to get serviced and was informed that the suspension has gone out on a truck that I have not owned a year. Barksdale refuse to repair this issue and I'm feeling like I was sold a lemon. I have owned several vehicles and currently still have a 2007 Tahoe(10 years old) never have a had any trouble with the suspension or anything else. When I spoke with the... More...

My original remote for my 2007 pontiac g6 quit working, so I bought and had installed by a dealer a new one. The plastic it is made of is much cheaper than the old one was. I just had it replaced in the end of December 2014 and it has several cracks and chunks of plastic missing and it is only February 2015. This remote has not had any more than normal use and it is literally falling apart. It was quite expensive and I would like a new one because this ridiculous. • Recall turns into $900 repair

On October 13, 2014 I took my 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo to Harbor Chevrolet in Michigan City IN for the ignition recall. Sixteen days later on 29th of October my car would not start. Key found not turn. I had the car towed to Sauers Buick GMC in LaPorte IN. I was told the ignition needed to be replaced. $881.00 that cost. Car ran good, but in one week check engine light was back on, took it back on the 10th of October. This time I was told that is was an emissions problem, and another $49 for a gas cap. I was assured this was the problem, even though I didn't think there was... More...

  • the ignition recall!!

Every time I hear on the news or on the internet about this ignition recall, I have to wonder what is this company really going to do for these poor people. You see we OWNED a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix in which my son took to college. One evening he had just gotten to his dorm and was just entering his room. When one of his buddies came running after him to tell him is car was on fire. He had JUST gotten out of his vehicle and the next thing he knew, it was engulfed in flames....... CAUSED by the ignition switch. We tried for over a year to get GM to reimburse us or do some kind of... More...

  • Everything about GM Is terrible

I have 3 Chevrolet 2500 vans that have had numerous problems from yaw sensors , rollover sensors , airbag sensors , engine misfires, and now torque converters . Because my vans are two months past warranty , I get no assistance .I've tried to talk to the local dealer , and customer service to get help with cost . All the dealer does is punch in some numbers in a calculator to determine help they will give , and customer service is a joke . I was told that because General Motors have too many recalls , they won't work with anyone to offset some cost . I only have 40,000 miles on... More...

  • GM Customer Care

My 2013 malibu has 26.6K miles on it and has a noise that can not be identified by the service dept or GM. GM sends in an engineer to review and fix, and instead they REDUCE the noise by 90% and can't identify nor FIX the issue. I want them to provide incentives to me to purchase another vehicle since the vehicle I bought thinking it would be working 100% of the time, now is 90% reduced and safe to drive. This is crazy as I bought a car that I thought would work, not one that is unfixable with a noise that can't be fixed. More...

  • GM truck seat belts rip at 71,000 miles

At 71,000 miles on my 2008 Chevrolet Silverado the driver's seat belt started ripping on both edges. The damage was quickly diagnosed by the dealer as sharp edges where the seat belt comes out of the B pillar on the side of the truck cab. The regional service manager decided that this was "normal wear and tear" and said that GM would not participate in repair costs. Seat belt failure as normal wear and tear at 71,000 miles??? I purchased a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu Lt in June 2012 from Taylor Chevrolet. Just recently while driving my vehicle my car just stopped suddenly in the middle of traffic. After getting my car towed to Tenneyson Chevrolet I was told my transmission went out and my power train warranty expired 5 months ago. I find it hard to believe that a car with only 66000 miles on the car and no problems or warnings can fail in a very dangerous circumstance with my 9 yr old child in the backseat. • CD players

When playing a CD with music having a wide dynamic range, if the audio volume is set to hear low amplitude passages, you get deafened when a loud one is played. Likewise, if the volume is set for the loud portion of the CD, the low passages are inaudible due to road and other extraneous noise. If the CD player were equipped with optional volume compression, this would not be a problem. FM broadcasts are no problem because audio compression is incorporated in the signal. More...

  • GM Scam and lack of care

I am a disabled Veteran of the US Marines. I also used to be a huge fan of GM and Camaro's in particular. My word is my bond and I expect honesty from an employer. Recently I tried working for GM at a Buick GMC dealer. Not only did I witness much inaccuracy to customers from senior salesmen, but I was also cheated in pay compared to my promised pay in contract. Torque converter is bad in my Pontiac torrent which I purchased new in 2007. If you want good customer service it is not at gm.
They lie and told you they called, todays technology with phones allow you to know who is calling, and when, and the ability to record the conversation.
They lie about recalls, and when enough people complain six months latter they want to reimburse you, even though it cost more out of your pocket to fix it. Don't believe them, and continue to complain. Check and make copies of the recalls, and don't let them lie to you.
I am still complaining.

Had my gas gauge fixed last week,on saturday Aug. 23rd I filled my tank for the first time, I noticed that gas was leaking, I took it back to the mechanic that did the original work, he showed me where it was leaking, I asked him if he could of damaged the tank when he took it out to repair the gas gauge, He said possible but he did not guarantee any breakage but would call Gm if there had been any recalls on the tank, they said yes but recall ended Aug.2013. They asked how many klm. the car had. I have 244,00 klm. on my 2003 rondevoux, they said Gm capped it at 240,000klm. because they figured that would be life of the car. My question is why is there an expiry date on a recall.I never got a notice from Gm about this problem, I file all notices received. Please reply to my e-mail thank-you

I bought a 2001 camaro ss back in 2003. It had 16, 000 miles in it. I drove it for 20 minutes AND it blew up. Replaced the motor. Now about a year ago with only 34, 000 miles on it it blows up again! I pulled the cylinder head to find #5 and the #7 pistons had cracked with only 34, 000 miles on it. The motor aside from a cold air kit and exhaust is stock. What the hell. It still sits for with the economy I can't fix it.

Dear Sir,

I have purchased a Chevrolet Beat Car of GM Motors from Metro Motors Pvt Ltd, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi in January 2013 vide Registration Number DL9TC5645 and from the day one I have following complaints:

1. Average Mileage on highway and ring road not exceeding 13-14 at any point of time since I purchased, where as GM Motor claim it is 25.3 KM per Litre. I have requested number of time to their dealer about this but I got the reply that it is the normal average and all the customer are quoting the same average in city. Please guide me if the average is 12-13 only then why company is making misleading advertisement if that is only with my car they should take corrective action to improve the average. Is it not a unfair trade practice. If the fault is in my car then either you rectify or replace the car. I have send my car number of time to Metro service station for the same but there is no change in the average.

2. Back bumper of the car always having loos and not fitted in the car body whenever I compliant they reply that they could not do anything, They can tied it with screw only.

3.There is always internal body noise form the day one in the car. I have complaint but no change.

4.Focus of light is also not good rather I am unable to see on long distance road clearly on night.

5.Pick up of the car is extremely bad. I have to make full pressure on the paddle for speed.

6. In case of servicing with Metro, They have charged a full amount on second service but not done anything for
•    No car cleaning and polishing.
•    Inner body noise
•    Back bumper

Please have a look and do the needful to get remedy for my car purchased with my hard earned money on loan basis.

Why or why do we still buy these useless GM vehicles?

We owned 4 different GMC Suburban, Denali, Yukon Xl etc...
They all had the rear AC go bad after a few years.

Impossible to have any GM truck from 1991-2014 with rear AC still operational after 3-4 years in a Northern climate (NY).

GM has known about this issue for over 23 years but has not been responsible towards its clients that have had to pay over $1500 every time for this repair.

On top of that the repairs only last for a couple of years. A serious reoccuring loss of time and money.

GM continues to produce the same exact defect year after year. Shame on them...but nothing last forever walk into any GM dealer and you can sense the archaic methods and vintage attitude still permeating the place.

How incredible that they were bailed out with tax payers money.
I wonder if we produced the same bad design in our business for over 23 years if uncle Sam will also bail us out when thing go South?

My name is Tony Spencer, I have a 2005 Buick Century and i didn;t want to believe it cause i absolutly love GM products, but this may very well be my last. My Century has currently 115,000 miles on it i bought it from LaFontain Buick GMC in Ann Arbor with 17,000 miles on it. The dealer advised it was ready to roll. per the owners manual It said to change the fluid in the Transmission at 50,000 miles i changes approx at 54,000 or 55,000 due to the milage it has on it already. after the change of the fluid the transmission started slippin. I was outdone, as i still pay a car payment on this car due to bad credit my intrest rate was super high 24%. Now im stuck trying to save and get a new trans in this car. I thought this was something you all should know. The information in the owners manual is not accurate. It hurt me more than helped. Thank You.

We bought a 2008 Chev Captiva 2lt Diesel 4x4, three and a half months ago from GM in Vanderbijlpark.
Approximately 2 weeks after purchase the vehicle went into Limp mode and the GM took it back to assess the problem. We then got the vehicle back after a while and soon after it again went into limp mode. This went on for approximately 2 to 3 weeks, during purchase date. We only had the pleasure of driving this vehicle on and off for about 15 to 20 days of the three and a half months we had this vehicle. After many complains and fights the branch manager and area manager decided to withdraw the Captiva and replace it with a suitable vehicle to our liking.
We did have a cutesy vehicle for the time been but we were not happy to drive any of these vehicles because this was not our own.
We then decided to take and purchase the demo Chev Trailblazer 2.8 that was our last cutesy vehicle because GM could not repair our Captiva and we lost interest and confidence in the Captiva range.
I then requested the selling price of the demo Trailblazer that we were using currently and Nati from GM Vanderbijlpark and the area manager Clinton were present on my request and Nati informed me that the reduced price of the demo Trailblazer was R380 000,00. I then told them that I want to purchase this vehicle at that price, but after a couple days the salesman Billy informed me that they can only supply me with a cheaper Trailblazer because they have to make up for the loss of the settlement on the Captiva. I feel that this is unfair that I have to pay for their loss of selling me an unreliable vehicle that I did not have the pleasure to drive. I suggest that they must reconsider and sell me the demo Trailblazer that I’m currently driving; otherwise they leave me no choice but to take this matter further.

My 2007 Chevy Impala started using a lot of oil at 48,000 miles. It was not leaking or anywhere on the motor. After being in the shop 9 times with them attempting to fix it they still have not. Three years later it is doing the same thing. Every time the add oil light comes on I have to drive 20 miles and take time off work to let them put the oil in. All they are doing is cleaning the oil off the rings. Of course without fixing the problems it gets right back on. Last try they changed 2 sparkplugs. Not all of them, just 2. Now it runs rough because the 2 new spark plugs are firing hotter than the old ones and making it miss. They claim GM will only change 2 at a time. Trying to fix as little as possible even though it is clearly making the problem worse. I paid for the overpriced "extended bumper to bumper" warrenty and so far I have been out 1200.00 on repairs they say are not covered by it. I will never own a GM car again. I have bought 6 in a row and had good luck until the last 2. The engine was going out on my 2005 Buick at 40,000 miles. GM cars and their warrenty are both worthless.

This is the worst purchase I have ever made....I will never buy another GM product again.....64K Miles---Pontiac G6. 2007...

Front end Mounts are out --- clunking and horrible sounds coming from the front end sounds like the wheels are going to fall off. Noticed it right after I bought it...

Transmission is Jerking and shifts rough. I had it in to the dealership and they had my car for 3 weeks...Had to figure out how to get to work....Bus, rides from friends....Andrew wouldn't put me up with a car...

Noise from under the steering wheel....

Sluggish acceleration.

I'm not a happy customer and I'm thinking about trading at the Honda dealership....I won't recommend GM to any one I'm concerned about...I think the product went to hell....

So much for my support for American made GM products......

I bought a GM Certified used 2005 Trailblazer in February 2009. In May 2010 the transmission didn't just fail, the housing was falling apart which lead to an obvious failure of the transmission. Cost $3300 for a new transmission on a vehicle with only 63,000 miles on it (plus missing work, paying for hotel since we were stranded, and a rental car).

Contacted the GM customer service number (located in the Phillipines?!?!?!) and they will do nothing to mitigate the costs of something that is clearly a flaw in manufacturing.

For over 30 yrs, I've owned GM cars;nevermore!!My 2002 Blazer needed a timing chain at 38,000 (just out of warranty), ball joints at 50,000 and trans is slipping at 61k.To add insult to injury, I recently had to jump start my 2006 Pont. and now my CD player doesn't work. The dealer said it needed reprogramming and the cost was $70-80. This is beyond absurd and the final straw for me. No more GM ever, ever....
